The exhibition “Athens - Triumph” of Imagery at the Liebieghaus in Frankfurt offers visitors new perspectives on the imagery of antiquity.

The challenge

To open up the complexity of the newly gained scientific approach in an appealing way.

Our approach

A space-filling narrative form, which combines the contexts between the internationally outstanding exhibits into a picture-rich scenography.

Skills

Co-curation, concept, planning, design, realisation

NEW RESEARCH FINDINGS OPEN UP UNUSUAL PERSPECTIVES ON THE FASCINATING WORLD OF IMAGES IN ANTIQUITY.

The founding myth of the city of Athens is staged as an exciting dialogue between exhibition object and discourse. The design preserves the aura of the exhibits and thus enables a direct encounter with the contemporary witnesses of antiquity. Parallel to this, large-format context panoramas develop along the walls.

HAND-DRAWN ILLUSTRATIONS
BRING THE CREATIVE PROCESS TO LIFE.

Like in a research, hand-drawn illustrations bring together images, texts, animations and background information for understanding the objects in a large composition. In the sequence of twelve rooms, each dedicated to a month, visitors go through the festive calendar of an entire year and experience, like an Athenian citizen, the omnipresence of myths.
