Concept, planning, design
The design concept is inspired by the depth of Frankfurt roots. Starting with Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, whom the restaurant is named after, who designed the world’s first built-in kitchen in the 1920s, aptly named “Frankfurter Küche” (Frankfurt kitchen). The concept further encapsulates the selection of chairs and tables, as well as the choice of materials such as copper linen, that highlight the contexts of book production and cooking utensils.
The gastronomy is complemented by the accompanied showroom “Fenster zur Stadt” (window to the city), which offers a diverse cultural program and draws conceptual connections to the urban surroundings. This gives the customer the choice of indulging either in culture or fine cuisine.
